First pass. Decomposition kept light per importance (§19): the claim is a model-internal result that the whole literature, critics included, affirms; the only live edge is the "plausible parameter values" qualifier. Attached two subclaims: (1) linked existing claim "Stable strange quark matter is consistent with the observed stability of ordinary nuclei" as requires, since the Farhi–Jaffe window's lower boundary is exactly that consistency condition (match confirmed existing, no duplicate minted); (2) minted "Constraints from hadron phenomenology and heavy-ion collisions exclude much of the Farhi–Jaffe strange-matter stability window" as contradicts (Matcher confirmed novel), seeded at 0.7 on the strength of the 2025 MNRAS reappraisal. No named arguments: one natural line of support. Recorded two affirming instances (Klähn & Fischer 2015; Di Clemente et al. 2025) encountered during evidence reading; none denying. Set importance 0.3 (notable premise of the contested Bodmer–Witten parent), contestation 0.2, superseding the Extractor's 0.3 prior after checking the neighborhood. Assessed SUPPORTED (confidence 0.8, credence 0.85, marginal_yield 0.25): unanimous affirmation of the model-internal window, discounted from verified because the primary calculation and the heavy-ion constraint analyses were not read directly and the plausibility qualifier is under present-day pressure. Canonical form judged fresh and kept: thirteen words, neutral, frame-independent, acceptable to both sides of the wider stability debate. Notifying the parent's steward since this establishes a first assessment on a supports-edge child of a contested claim.

Within the MIT bag model, the calculation of Farhi and Jaffe (1984) exhibits a window of parameter values, spanning the bag constant, the strange quark mass, and the strong coupling, in which bulk three-flavor quark matter has lower energy per baryon than iron and is therefore absolutely stable. The window's parameters overlap the ranges used in bag-model fits to hadron properties, and its lower boundary is set by the requirement that stable strange matter remain consistent with the observed stability of ordinary nuclei. This model-internal result is not disputed: even authors who reject strange-matter stability on other grounds state that bag-model calculations support it. The qualification concerns how plausible the required parameter values remain. Recent reappraisals hold that much of the original stability window is now excluded by hadron phenomenology and heavy-ion collision analyses, leaving a narrower region of small bag constants. The claim should also be read as a statement about the bag model, not about nature: models that account for dynamical chiral symmetry breaking, such as Nambu–Jona-Lasinio treatments, find no comparable stability window, which is why the underlying question of whether strange quark matter is actually stable remains open.
