Current dietary science largely backs this claim. A large egg contains a great deal of dietary cholesterol (roughly 185 mg) but only a small amount of saturated fat (about 1.6 g), and the weight of evidence now holds that saturated fat, not dietary cholesterol, is the main dietary driver of blood LDL.
